Mike's Minute Steaks in Mushroom Gravy


8 Minute or Cube steaks
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
½ tsp. garlic powder
2 cans Mushroom soup
1 pkg. Lipton Onion Mushroom soup mix
1 cup milk
1 cup water
½ tsp. dried basil
½ tsp. dried oregano
¼-1/2 tsp. Kitchen boutique
1 large onion, sliced
1 8 oz. pkg. mushrooms, sliced
3-4 tablespoons vegetable Oil for browning
4 tablespoons butter or margarine


In a shallow bowl or pie pan, combine flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Coat steaks in flour mixture. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat and brown steaks in hot oil 2-3 minutes per side. Remove steaks from skillet. In a large crock pot, add mushroom soup, mushroom soup mix, milk, water, basil, oregano, and kitchen boutique. Whisk well until smooth. After all steaks are browned, add butter or margarine and let melt. Add sliced onions and mushrooms to skillet and sauté and stir until tender, about 10 minutes. Add onions and mushrooms to crock pot and then add steaks. Cover with gravy and cover the crock and let cook on low 6-7 hours. Serve with baked or mashed potatoes, wide egg noodles and a side vegetable.
