Shredded Beef Sandwiches (1/7/2011)

Shredded Beef Sandwiches

3-4 lb. Chuck roast
1 pkg. Dry Onion Soup mix
1 tablespoon black pepper
½ tsp. garlic powder
1 can beef broth
4 beef bouillon cubes
1 large Onion, sliced
Buns or your favorite hard roll

Place the roast in a large crock pot. In a bowl, mix together onion soup mix, black pepper and garlic powder. Pour the mixture over roast. Add sliced onions over top. Add beef broth around roast without disturbing the mixture on top of the roast. Add the 4 beef bouillon cubes around roast. Cover crock. Turn to high and cook 30 minutes, then lower the heat to low and cook 6-7 hours. Remove meat from crock pot. Allow meat to cool and shred with two forks. Skim off any excess fat from juices. Return meat to juices in crock pot and reheat for serving.
