Hamburger, Green bean and Potato Casserole

2 lbs. Ground Beef
4-5 cups thinly sliced potatoes
2 cans green beans (drained) or 2 cups fresh green beans
2 cans cream of celery soup
¾ cup chopped onion
1 cup milk
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. fresh basil, chopped
1 tsp. fresh oregano, minced
1 tsp. fresh thyme, minced
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese


Preheat oven ot 350-degrees F. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onion. Drain off fat. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of celery soup, milk, garlic powder, basil, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, and 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well. Add green beans and stir. In a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, alternately layer the sliced potatoes, soup mixture and meat. Bake for 1-1 ½ hours, or until potatoes are tender. Top with the remaining 1 cup cheddar cheese, and bake another 5-10 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted.


Serves 10.
