Crock Pot Barbecue Beef Brisket (7/2/2010)

Crock Pot Barbecue Beef Brisket

3-4 lbs. Beef Brisket
1 ½ cups barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon dry mustard
½ teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, except brisket. Coat brisket with mixture. Cover with plastic wrap, and marinate in refrigerator overnight. When ready to cook, place brisket in large crock pot and cook on low 9-10 hours. Remove, let rest 10-15 minutes, then slice across the grain.

Beef Brisket is on sale through Saturday, July 2 at Cremer's grocery on Rhomberg Avenue for $2.99 per pound, 9-13 pound average. Cremer's will cut them and freezer wrap for free.

This week's recommended wine from Van's Liquor Store in East Dubuque-Chateau Ste. Jean California Cabernet, $8.49 750ml bottle through 7-5-2010.
