Mike's Chunky Chili (9/11/2009)

Mike's Chunky Chili

2 lbs. Sirloin Tip steak, cut into 1" cubes
1 large Onion, chopped
1 46 oz. can Tomato juice
1 12 oz. Can Tomato paste
1 28 oz. can stewed tomatoes (with liquid)
1 12 oz. Can beer
1 tablespoon Paprika
1 teaspoon Oregano
3 tablespoon Chili Powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 15 oz. Can Brookes chili hot beans (with liquid)
1 15 oz. Can Kidney beans, drained & rinsed
Salt & pepper to season
Olive oil
Oyster crackers

Season sirloin cubes with salt, pepper and a little chili powder. In a large skillet, heat 2-3 tablespoons olive oil over medium heat. Brown sirloin cubes in batches as not to crowd pan. Use a slotted spoon to drain and remove from pan and add to large 5-6 quart crock pot. Now add the solid and dry ingredients, except oyster crackers, adding tomato juice last, just enough to fill up the crock pot. Stir well and cook on low 6-8 hours. Serve with oyster crackers.

This week's recommended wine from Van's Liquor Store in East Dubuque-All wines are 15% off through 9/14/09. You must tell the Clerk "my favorite wine guru says this wine sale is 15% off".
