Feta Cheeseburgers (5/26/2006)

Feta Cheeseburgers

All you need:
1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs, unseasoned
2 tbsp feta cheese, crumbled
2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp basil leaf
1/2 Teaspoon oregano leaf
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 pound lean ground beef

All you do:
1. Mix bread crumbs, cheese, milk, salt, basil, oregano and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl.
2. Add ground beef and mix well.
3. Shape into 4 patties, 3/4-inch thick.
4. Grill burgers for 10 to 14 minutes or until no longer pink in center, turning once.
5. Serve on buns with fresh tomato slices.

When I put my burgers together, I let the meat mixture refrigerate for at least 2 hours, then I made 8 thinner patty's and put 1 tablespoon of the Feta Cheese in the middle of one patty and topped it with another, then pinched the edges closed so cheese wouldn't ooze out.
