Cascade Council Tables Proposed Main Street Lane Reduction

City leaders in Cascade have decided to hold off on reducing the town’s main road by a lane. The Cascade City Council on Monday night chose to table a proposal that would have shifted 1st Avenue from a four lane road down to three lanes. Under the plan, there would be one lane of traffic going in each direction, with a center turn lane. The change would allow the city to install bicycle lanes on each side of the street. It’s not yet known when the proposal would come back before the council. Its next meeting is currently scheduled for June 25.
