  • In their final appearance the Western Dubuque boys captured the WAMAC East championship last night totaling 181 points. Beckman Catholic was 7th and Maquoketa 8th. WD had four individual champs and 2 relay titles. In the girls meet; Western Dubuque placed 4th with 103, Beckman was 6th and Maquoketa 8th.  WD had one individual and two relay titles. Solon was the champ with 148.50

High School Golf

  • At the MVC Mississippi Divisional Meet at Irv Warren in Waterloo, Wahlert shot a 339 and have grabbed the lead after two rounds over Linn-Mar by four strokes. Linn-Mar shot a 359 yesterday. Anna Jensen of Wahlert was the medalist yesterday carding 78. The final round of the Mississippi Divisional will be Monday at Bunker Hill.
  • AT the MVC Valley Divisional at the Meadows, Cedar Falls won by three strokes 363-360 and have a two stroke lead over the Rams following two rounds. Hempstead shot 400. The final round of the Valley Divisional will be Monday at Ellis in Cedar Rapids. 

College Baseball

  • The Clarke Pride will play for a championship today at the Heart of America Conference Tournament in Ozark, Missouri. Clarke defeated Grand View 6-3 and then pounded top seed Central Methodist 17-4 in 7 innings to set up a rematch with Central Methodist for the title today. Game time is at 1 o’clock. Regardless of the outcome, both teams have qualified for the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round May 14 – 17.

College Womens Golf

  • Clarke is in 8th place out of the 9 teams after one round of the Heart Tournament in Lawrence, Kansas. The Pride shot 388. William Penn leads after firing 304
