America’s River Festival Attendance Down 45% from Last Year

Attendance for the annual America’s River Festival dropped to its lowest point of the event’s second decade this year. About 8,200 people attended the festival on Friday and Saturday, marking the first time since 2014 that the event has failed to draw more than 10,000 people. Attendance fell by about 45% from last year, when 15,000 people made it one of the best-attended editions of the festival. Weather may have helped to dampen attendance at this year’s event. Rain threatened much of Friday night, though most of the precipitation held off until after the concerts had wrapped up for the night. That was not the case on Saturday, when lightning from an impending storm cut headliner Pat Benatar’s performance short.
